Steatit ceramics are traditional and long-proven electrical insulating materials that are widely used in the electrical and engineering industries. It is a fine-grained silicate ceramic based on talc (Mg₃Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂), which has an exceptionally balanced combination of electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties.
Thanks to its high electrical strength, good mechanical resistance, and excellent dimensional stability, steatit is an ideal material for the production of precise insulating parts exposed to long-term operational loads.
Steatit ceramics are suitable for use in environments with a combination of electrical, thermal, and mechanical stress, where plastics and metals fail.
Typical areas of application are:
Protective ceramic casings for seating of the fusing wire of a power fuse. They have high mechanical resistance to short-circuit currents. They are produced as casings of power fuses and casings for very quick fuses securing electronic semiconductor circuits.
Insulating beads are used to insulate conductors in devices with a high temperature. They are used in various types and sizes.
Ceramic holders are characterized with high electrical and mechanical strength and dimensional stability at high temperatures. They are mainly used in heat appliances, e.g. el. stoves, heat radiators and switching cabinets of low-voltage power supply lines.
Bushings are used for insulation of electric parts of devices and appliances that work at high temperature. The material maintains dimensional stability and insulating capabilities even under heat stress.
Bracing pillars form an insulating field and space for large transformers and transformer stations. They are characterized with high strength and resistance to electric discharge.
Terminal boards exhibit high electrical and mechanical strength and dimensional stability at high temperatures. They are mainly used in heat appliances, e.g. el. stoves, heat radiators and switching cabinets of low-voltage power supply lines.
Resistance wire holders have a very wide application scope thanks to their material variety and thus specific characteristics. They are used e.g. for traction and resistance devices in the branch of electric transport.
Steatit bases serve as insulating and structural elements for mounting electrical and electronic components. Thanks to their high heat resistance, they are suitable for applications where significant heating of surrounding components occurs.
Ceramic steatit heads are used as insulating covers and supporting parts of electrical assemblies. They protect electrical connections and also perform a mechanical function.
Ceramic combs are used to guide and fix conductors in a precise position. They prevent them from touching and from voltage jumps.
